(1915-1989) Голдман, Эрик ФредерикИсторик, педагог, журналист. В 1964-66 - советник президента США Л. Б. Джонсона [ Johnson, Lyndon Baines (LBJ)], первый "домашний интеллектуал" [ intellectual-in-residence], в чьи обязанности входил поддержание связей с интеллигенцией (подал в отставку, сославшись на нежелание президента воспринимать новые идеи). Получил степень доктора философии [ Ph.D.] в Университете Джонса Хопкинса [ Johns Hopkins University] в возрасте 22 лет. В 1938-41 преподавал в этом университете, одновременно выступал со статьями в журнале "Тайм" [ Time magazine]. В 1942-85 преподавал в Принстонском университете [ Princeton University], с 1962 - профессор. Автор труда по истории либеральной мысли "Встреча с судьбой: история современных американских реформ" ["Rendezvous with Destiny: A History of Modern American Reform"] (1952; премия Бэнкрофта [Bancroft History Prize]), ставшего стандартным учебником в школах и колледжах.
